My Story
Hey, I’m Troy... Founder of Breath Cartel.
I grew up the third oldest in a big, loving family of seven.
But early on, I lost my way, getting into fights, breaking into homes, and using drugs like meth.
By 14, I was bouncing between my parent's and friends parent'shouses.
At 18, I was couch-surfing, chasing any kind of stability.
I left Melbourne and ended up living in a tent in Perth.
Ran out of money. Came back. Relapsed.
But I wasn’t done.
Back in Perth, I lived in a swag in a sunroom for over a year, working multiple jobs.
Carpentry, bouncing, Refugee security guard overseas and remote gigs in construction.
At 26, I returned to Melbourne and built a construction company from scratch.
Ten years later, it was a 7-figure business with a team of 15+ employees.
23 years in the trade.
On paper? Successful.
Behind the scenes? Burnt out, anxious, and hooked on cocaine.
For the last five years, I hated the life I built.
The work felt heavy.

The lifestyle numbed me.

At 33, I looked ahead and knew I couldn’t keep doing this.

I’m grateful for what carpentry gave me, but I needed more than money.

I needed purpose. I needed peace.

Over 3 years ago, I found breathwork...it changed everything.
People who knew me could see where I was headed… and it wasn’t good.
Breathwork brought me back.
It helped me regulate stress, find stillness, and get sober for real.
Now I breathe daily...first thing, every morning.
It grounds me. Clears me.
And I believe it can change anyone’s life, if you give it a real go.
That old carpentry space?
It’s now the home of Breath Cartel.
A space for breath, healing, and starting over.
Today, I’m a certified breathwork instructor.
And despite everything I’ve been through, I’ve never felt more clear, more grounded, or more grateful.
Let’s Breathe.
